Captain Shane Turpin —
Thanks to Bud Turpin, lava flowing into the sea has stained everlasting memories while boating along the Puna Coastline as a child. The Turpins moved to Mt. View 25 minutes above of Hilo town back in 1983. Soon after the volcano began to heat up with lava fountains and curtains of fire view able from our house. I’m thankful to be able to experience the rare occurrence of earths creation and natural development and share this special experience with people from around the world. After years of great times at the flow lava boating, fishing, diving I still get goose bumps watching the ever-changing volcano, the majestic marine life, and the rare coastal treasures hidden along the Puna Coast.
After working in the snorkel business operating daily tours to Molokini with various Maui companies I decided to move back to the Big island to start operating boat tours along Hawaii Volcanoes National Park allowing visitors a new way to view lava and experience Hawaii’s remote southeastern waters.
Mahalo,
Capt. Shane Turpin
